With this said, let’s also review some of the main tips in avoiding a phishing attack:
If you are ever prompted to enter your email address and password, don’t do it. There is a .001% chance that you will ever need to do this based on an unsolicited email.
If you have the slightest doubt about a request in an email, pick up the phone and call the sender to validate the request.
Avoid clicking on links in unsolicited emails and be wary of email attachments.
Do not provide information about your organization.
Do not reveal personal or financial information in email.
When in doubt, don’t act on it. It’s simply not worth it.
